Otto PaErultja, A Narrative journey of the Dreamtime

Carl Strehlow: There are several major native-cat totemic sites to be found in the Mt Sonder area, but all of these are located in rugged country several miles distant from the mountain. One of these is PaErultja.once the home of the long deceased father of three well known Hermannsburg water colour artists originally christened Ruben, Otto and Edwin ; they later adopted the name of their fathers totemic site as their own family name.

Ewald Namatjira - Profile

Ewald Namatjira was born the third son of Albert and Rubina on the 11th of July 1930. As a young child he would often complain of ill health and was subsequently allowed to spend more time at home or on painting trips with his father.

Oscar Namatjira (1922 - 1991) - Biography

Oscar was born, out bush, in 1922. After attending mission school he joined the Army Labor Gang in 1942. He returned to the mission three years and took up painting.

Samuel Fullbrook

Sam Fullbrook (1922–2004) was an Australian artist who was a winner of the Archibald Prize for portraiture and the Wynne Prize for landscape. He was described as "last of the bushman painters" (a rural art tradition). However Fullbrook was fine art-trained and his sophisticated works are in every State art museum in Australia and international collections.

Russell Drysdale

Sir George Russell Drysdale, AC (7 February 1912 – 29 June 1981) was an Australian artist. He won the prestigious Wynne Prize for Sofala in 1947, and represented Australia at the Venice Biennale in 1954. He was influenced by abstract and surrealist art, and "created a new vision of the Australian scene as revolutionary and influential as that of Tom Roberts".
